Due to the increasing numbers of Covid-19 cases in Queensland and our current family health situation (not Covid related) we are not taking any holiday or camping bookings right now.

We encourage you to check back here at a later stage and we hope to have an update of when we will take bookings again.

We love hosting guests and it has been our way of live for since 1993 and we hope to host your here some time soon.
Meet Tiny
The Standardbred
Tiny is a gentle gentleman who is more than 17HH this picture does not do his size justice.  Tiny loves a cuddle and human affection all the time.  He is not your typical horse and if he had a choice I think would live with people not out with the horses.
Picture Tiny and a guest called Ash giving him a little love. Tiny is very cuddly. Myella is a great place to go horse riding near Rockhampton, Gladstone, Capricorn Coast Area, Sandstone Wonders, Biloela and the Outback Region.

Meet Lyn's Favourite Horse
Scareface
The rider in this picture is Jillaroo Jess, check out her social media pages she's a cool lady.
Jess came to visit and rode Lyn's favourite horse beside her favourite bottle tree, nice hey.

Vaccinated
We love our horses and vaccinate them annually for Tetanus and Hendra Virus.  Stan is on his best behaviour for the Moura Vet in this picture.
This is a picture of Sophie an English girl who first came to Myella as a guest over 15 years ago Sophie has returned so often she is considered one of our family although she continues to live in the UK prior to covid she returned annually!
Meet Rose-Robyn
This chestnut mare was an endurance horse from the Bonnie Doone stables of Alwyn Torenbeek.  After competing in many 100km races she is now a happy farm stay horse.

Rose Robyn and Chief the grey
Picture of Chief the grey horse and Rose Robyn the Chestnut. These are first time riders and doing pretty good. These two photographs are taken 50 m apart isn't it interesting how different the landscape looks.
Meet Stan the Standardbred
Picture of horse riding in the Capricorn coast region Stan the Standardbred horse with a rider at the beginning of the ride. He is up close to the camera you might even think he's posing.

Meet Shiraz
Shiraz is a well bred quarter horse her real name is "Jazz and Wine Bar" but as Carl enjoy a good wine she now has a new Myella name (not sure if it's bad luck to change a horses name).  This guest is taking a picture of Shadow Carl's work dog.  Below is Shiraz and Bruce the Chestnut.

Bruce and Tiny are the geldings who we ask to carry the heavy weights and we love them for their work.
Bruce and Tiny
We love our horses, we are strict with the weight limit.  We even weigh you in prior to your ride.  Some guests claim they are under 100kg without their clothes; but we say "you won't ride naked you still have to be fully clothed for the weigh in!"

Meet Rebecca Joy
AKA = R.J.
This is Carl's favourite, she is small in stature but big in attitude and intelligence.

RJ was breed by Alwyn Torenbeek. Her foal is currently been trained and competing in endurance races with Kelsey (Alwyn's Grandaughter).
Classy
This horse is being ridden by a guest who stayed over 20 years ago.  The girl standing on the ground in the picture is called "Myella".  After 15 years she returned to Australia to show Myella where she got her name.  The girl and her brother weren't keen on horse riding so we drove them out into the paddock to meet up with their mum.
While horses can be dangerous, risks can be substantially mitigated with things like knowledge, situational awareness, and safety equipment.

Meet The Mob

The mob of horses live outside all together.  They are mates who work, rest and play together.

Mr Big our Shetland pony does not live with the mob as he causes trouble. So he lives closer to the homestead with an old retired horse, the milking cows and calves.
