See the various types of cattle that live at Myella.  There are over 100 breeds throughout Australia, however Myella mostly graze Brahman cattle which have been crossed with various European breeds like Charolais, Hereford and Angus.

To provide milk here at Myella, we have a few dairy cows.  The cow pictured below is called Rosie and we hand raised her from a calf.  Her mother was a milking cow for Peters Milk on a farm 60km away.  Below are pictures of her as a mum and as a younger animal being bottle fed.

FARM DRIVE TOUR ~ 1½ hours
Available on Saturday and Monday.

NOTE:  This Farm Tour can be purchased separately.  It is also included within the ½ Day Farm Experiences Tour.

This tour is perfect for those who want to learn about the farm and see the beef cattle in the paddocks.

You will be guided across the 1100 hectare station via vehicle.  There is no walking involved so the tour is suitable for guests using a wheelchair or pram.  Also note the tour departure point has a disability amenity.

At the homestead there is a large map, you are welcome to study this mural before the call of “All aboard”, then take you seat or take the standing option.  If you have a particular interest, it is worth informing Lyn or Carl as the tour begins so they will include relevant information throughout the journey.

The farm tour is a gentle drive over the farm roads.  The driver meanders down through picturesque farming country, flanked by grassland.  If you keep your eyes peeled, you should spot wildlife like kangaroo and birds of prey.

Get an insight into the operations of the farm, water supply and animals and vegetation both native and introduced.    You may even get to taste some bush tucker.

The cattle provide the perfect excuse to stop for a photo, improve your knowledge about these herd animals.  Learn how they graze the land and how Myella is managed with the view to nurture the eco system.

Through entertaining stories you’ll learn about the management of the property both past and present.

This farm tour suits people of all ages and interests from those who lived on the land and also people having their first ever farm visit.  As this tour often runs in conjunction (or as part of) with the ½ Day Farm Experiences on Sunday and Tuesday mornings contact us to establish the start time on that day.
