OUTDATED Meet the Locals at our Cattle Station in Queensland
Lyn and Carl
Lyn and Carl are the owner and Managers at Myella and are passionate about everything that happens here at our Cattle Station in Queensland.
They both love being outside with the animals and feeling like they are making a difference in improving the land and environment. Now days Lyn is often does the pink jobs e.g. cooking and cleaning and caring for her mother. While Carl does most of the blue jobs, like mustering cattle and fixing fences etc. but he also has to do the books :)
Lyn likes bush poetry and making this website. Carl is a bit of a foodie and loves a chat about all things.
Carl and Lyn got engaged at the sunset point.
Olive and Peter Eather
Olive is a local farm girl and she is Lyn's Mum and grew up on a neighbouring cattle station. Sadly, Peter passed away in 2019 aged 86 years, they were married for 55 years. Much of the infrastructure is a legacy of Peter's contribution to the farm stay and Olive's organisational skills have created many of the systems.
Peter and Olive have three children and two grand children. Olive is as tough as nails and loves to work. Although now in her 70's and a bit forgetful due to being diagnosed with Alzheimer's (a form of dementia) in 2019 she continues to contribute where she can, raking leaves, mowing the lawn, washing and making beds, So she's doing a lot of behind the scenes jobs but is also still good to a chat with in a one on one situation,
Ask Olive about her goats and how they pulled a cart with and transported the cream from their dairy and cattle station.
She also enjoys sharing stories of how she and her siblings rode her horse 8 miles to get to the Baralaba State School.
