Meet the Locals at our Cattle Station in Queensland

Lyn and Carl

Farm Stay Hosts Lyn Eather and Carl Hendrick standing under a tree in cowboy hats
Lyn and Carl are the owner and Managers at Myella and are passionate about everything that happens here at our Cattle Station in Queensland.

They both love to show guests around but being outside with the animals are Lyn and Carl's their favourite things.  However now days Lyn is often left with the pink jobs e.g. cooking and cleaning.  While Carl does most of the blue jobs, like mustering cattle and fixing fences etc.

Lyn likes bush poetry and making this website.  Carl is a bit of a foodie and loves a chat about all things.

Olive and Peter Eather

Picture
Olive is a local farm girl and she is Lyn's Mum and grew up on a neighbouring cattle station.  Sadly, Peter passed away in 2019 aged 86 years, they were married for 55 years.

Much of the infrastructure is a legacy of Peter's contribution to the farm stay and Olive's organisational skills have created many of the systems plus her recipes are used daily.

Peter and Olive have three children and two grand children.  Olive is as tough as nails and loves to work.  Although now in her 70's and a bit forgetful she continues to be a valuable member of the team.  Olive does a lot of behind the scenes jobs but is also great to have a chat with.

Ask Olive about her goats and how they pulled a cart with and transported the cream from their dairy and cattle station.

She also enjoys sharing stories of how she and her siblings rode her horse 8 miles to get to the Baralaba State School.
