Woorabinda (pop 1300) is located 58kms west of Myella. The Eather family host many people associated with this town. The township of Woorabinda is an Aboriginal Deed of Grant in Trust community which is an area held in trust and reserved for the benefit of aboriginal inhabitants of the state.
Woorabinda is situated on the traditional lands of the Wadja Wadja / Wadjigal Aboriginal people, who lived on the country between the Expedition Ranges and Dawson River before the arrival of Europeans. We are told the word Woorabinda means sleeping / resting kangaroo.
